Meeting with Alberta Provincial Government – October 21, 2025
Prior to attending our meeting, we prayed to the Holy Spirit to be with us and for guidance.

As ABMK representatives, we were grateful for the opportunity to meet with The Honourable Adrianna LaGrange to discuss our 2025 resolutions and other areas of interest and concern to our members. While we were with the Minister for almost an hour, the time went by very quickly. It was a productive session with the Minister engaged, commenting, asking questions and taking notes to follow up on and share with her colleagues. We provided an information package for her further reference. The resolutions discussed included:
1. Need for Increased and Equitable Support for Grandparents raising Grandchildren like those in Saskatchewan and that the government collaborate with healthcare providers, local municipalities, and not-for-profit organizations to ensure that these services are accessible, affordable and tailored to meet the unique needs of grandparents who are caregivers for their grandchildren.  This concern appeared new to the Minister who wrote several notes.
2.
Need for legislation protecting the Conscience Rights for Healthcare Workers and Providers. We indicated      that this continues to be a need and while the government introduced a Bill in 2019 (Bill 207 – Conscience Rights (Health Care Providers) Protection Act (November 2019) it was withdrawn. We advocated the need to revisit the concern.
3. Planned Parenthood Resources on Alberta Government and AHS (its successor health organizations) supported Websites replace videos and resources from educational materials posted for teachers and parents on Alberta Government-supported websites with up-to-date scientific resources related to human embryology.  The examples we provided appeared to resonate with the Minister who asked several questions.
4. Reaffirmation of our support for an Independent Seniors Advocate.  We provided updated information to support our position. The Minister provided us with new information and contact details for ABMK to pursue.

We left with positive optimism that our concerns were heard and may make a difference in the legislative process.

Personal Taxes &  Sanctity of Life

It is a good opportunity to include this or a similar note with your return.  Pass it on to as many as possible.

PERSONAL DECLARATION: I wish to protest the use of my tax money to support, in Alberta and on the federal level, the legalized killing known as abortion. I wish to have it known that, in spite of my protest, I am FORCED to participate through my taxes in the taking of innocent human life. I would like this statement to be permanently filed with my tax records to show that this involvement is involuntary and against the dictates of my conscience.
